So in my last help request BIOS settings were recommended, and the tweakgude was introduced to me. So I'm slowly going through the windows TG and it's talking about BIOS. Mine is very basic. Boot sequence, periferials on or off, basic sys info. Is there a hidden protion that has advanced settings? I've been through all menus and sub menus, but haven't found anything. Is it advisable to update your BIOS? If I do and it doesn't go over to well is it hard to recover from? I've windows restore points are my best friend when trying something new lol, but I know this is not an option here. Is there any benifit to even messing with this?

Well, I wouldn't flash (update) your BIOS unless you're having a problem that the newer version addresses.

I assume that this is a laptop correct?  Most laptops have just basic BIOS features.  Due to the nature of the motherboards on most all laptops, there is not to many user featurs for you.  The board is actually "Branded" with base settings that cannot be changed.
As Smooth stated.  There is absolutely no reason to flash a BIOS unless you are having isseus.  BIOS is the brains, just like brain surgery, you mess up you will have a dead computer that cannot be revived.  In most all cases of BIOS flash fails, a new mother board may have to be installed.  So head that suggestion.

Kitty, this is a laptop, I doubt it has a way to recover like most desktop boards have today.  Though most BIOS' today has some safe flashing in which you can do right through windows.  I am not sure what his set up is or type of BIOS.  Again, if it aint broke don't fix it is a good thought for a BIOS upgrade.
