Quad SLI setup.  Take a look at the power consumption banchmarks towards the end.

Mean looking set up there! popcorn

Whoa? That actually looked like they had more issues than anything.? I mean, how can you benchmark anything that doesn't produce the desired effect?? I would say it sounds good but what I read is poor ideas in the making. When they can benchmark that without the issues and run a clean benchmark is when I would post those results.? Instead they ran those tests and rave about how well this set up is.? SLI concept is good but in reality, it is a selling feature for more cards to be sold when the bennifit is minimal.? A Dual GT7800 will do anything by itself that an SLI setup could do.? No human eye would be able to tell the difference in performance accept the issues these guys put up.

I think that SLI stuff is more bragging rights than anything TK.  At what point do you say, I'll use 4 graphics cards in my system, then spend the enormous sum of money on it, and have a barely noticible effect with current apps.  There's people with high end systems, then there's people with too high end systems that aren't practical and make the user look foolish for spending that amount of dough on it.  I think I saw 1 other quad SLI setup, by DFI I think it was, but they used 4 PCI-E slots in their setup.

Wow, 4 PCIe SLi slots?   What kind of mother board I wonder?  That would be more for CAD and graphics producers and possible game developers but you and I?  Naa.  What a waist.  I would kill for just one dual 7800gt!

I'm having trouble finding the exact model number, but I think I remember it being a DFI board, either 4 or 3 PCI-E x16 slots.

No reason to go Quad SLI when you can get a nVidia Quadro card for those intense Cad-Cam and graphics programs.  Tom's is not the most accurate or respected sight on the net, so that would explain their review of a poorly functioning, ultra expensive, impractical set up.

I don't think it's four cards. It's 2 7800GT Dual cards that are bridged. Makes it four chips on two cards.

No they weren't bridged.  That is why they had issues I am sure.  Those Dual78 did not have an SLi bridge connector but the board was smart enough to accept them and make them work somewhat.
What is real cool is they had their own power blocks.
