I. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Battlefield, soldier. The information contained in this document will help you on the field of combat. This document will provide additional information to what you receive in game. Also if you are experiencing technical difficulties, look here for the most recent troubleshooting answers.

II. DEMO LIMITATIONS

This demo version of Battlefield 2142 has the following limited feature set:

- Multiplayer Mode:
Sidi Power Plant - max 48 players - Titan and Conquest game modes

- BFHQ:
Statistics, rankings and awards will not be recorded or awarded

- Single player
None

III. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS AND SUPPORTED CHIPSETS

In order to install and play the Battlefield 2142 demo, your system must meet or exceed the following minimum system requirements.

Operating system: Windows XP with latest service pack installed
DirectX 9.0c February 2006 edition (included)
CPU: Intel Pentium 4/AMD Athlon 1.7 GHz or equivalent
RAM: 512 MB
Video Card: 128MB DirectX compliant video card, Pixel shader 2.0 and above. (AGP and PCIe only)
Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible
Hard Drive space: 950MB of space is required to install the demo
Internet connection: 128kbit Cable/DSL connection

In order to play the game at the recommended resolution, detail and performance levels, your computer should match or exceed the following specifications:

X-Fi AUDIO PROVIDER

This option enables optimised hardware-accelerated 3D audio positioning, mixing and environmental effects for users with compatible Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi soundcards. The Ultra-high audio quality level is only available with the X-Fi audio provider.
NOTE - This feature is only available on X-Fi soundcards with support for "Gaming Mode". X-Fi must be set to "Gaming mode". A guide to setting up your soundcard, plus details of compatible hardware can be found at http://www.soundblaster.com

DL last night. Played this morning. Just another BF with different graphics. There's minor differences, one of the Tank's driving is completely different. The turret doesn't move, but the strafe keys move it sideways. There's no driver's MG on the tanks. Only 4 kits to chose from. It's harder to see people due to the colors (i think). I didn't play the Titan game yet, but that might be the saving grace for me and this game. It's fresh, neat, I'll buy it eventually, but nothing I'm going to run out and buy the day it comes out...maybe when it comes down to $30 or so, or if everyone else gets it and wants to squad up.

Keep in mind it's just a demo, I'm sure there will be more kits in the future.  I just finished installing it, I'll try and put together a movie.

Not overly impressed either.  The graphics are great in certain places, but look terrible in others.  They've basically condensed the kits into 4 like Doball said.  Assault and medic are combined, so are SF and sniper.  Movement seems constricted and the weapons don't really stand out from each other.  I hope the final version is better.

Well, the more I play it the more I like it, it still needs work though.  The explosions are great.  Commander has a few extra tools including an orbital EMP blast that can be used to disable everything in it's radius for some time.  If you thought the arty was bad in BF2, it's worse in this one.  Longer barrages and wider spreads.  But 1 hit from an arty shell won't necessarily kill you in this one.

Short 5mb vid (wmv) I noticed I had hit the Fraps and had it running.  This was my first jup in to BF2142.  Not much here.  Will take a few more.

EDIT: Actually Best Buy is showing the 18th.

The EA Downloader sys 1 day and 20 hours.  It has been counting down for the last 30dyas.  So it looks like it is out Tue the 10th. 
I think it hits the shelves on the 17th?
