Mouse goes crazy.

I have an annoying problem.  My laser mouse will suddenly go to one corner  (Upper left or lower right). Thiis is very annoying in games because my screen suddenly spins around and causes me to loose direction.  This happens out of games too. Suddenly the mouse will appear in a corner. Yes, I cleaned the mouse.

I had one that would all of a sudden i would be looking straight up and spinning around.
it was undder warranty and they sent me a new one.
I'm pretty sure it was a broken wire where it came out of the mouse

I have this problem every once in awhile in the game.... All of sudden I spin or do a dance of some sort ... Once I take my hand off the mouse it stops.  I have always had this problem in JO (have had several different mouse) (Maybe video card?)... No other games ... Doesn't happen all the time ... But pops up at the wrong time ... And then I am dead.

yup it is a very common occurance..most often with laser or optical mice.

FIXES:

update directx

updates via windows update

update specific machines (dells,hp's) via the makers dedicated model webpages

roll back or update mouseware via device manager ..if using 3rd party mouseware..i.e. logitech  ..either update it or uninstall reinstall from original cd.


ultimate FIX:

uninstall all mouseware chuck it out...go buy a razer or logitech g7 laser...

notes:

all optical and laser mice need specific mouse mats usually found at retailers..never use these surfaces

clear glass counters or desks
leather mousepads
or any other light absorbing or light difracting surface.

Yep, I have a Razor and it is the best I have yet.  On the fly (in-game) mouse speed and very precise.
