Now a little insite into the game. If u ever played Operation Flash Point then U really already know what it is. Its just like that game but newer.

Its a lot like Americas army but much much much more squad based and your in wide open terrain. Once your dead though your dead U come alive as a bird and U can watch the rest of the squad. U can drive any and all vehicles in the game. In OFP they even had a farm tractor that i loved to run people over in. I also loved the chinook in OFP great for a squad assult on a base have lots of guys jump and parachute out while 2 guys cover with the mini guns from the chinook. This ones got jets in it now where as OFP did not. Will have the appache as well as multiple tanks, APC's, Hunvee and so on. Much much fun. would be great to get all 30 of us one a side and Rule the world there. U can have i believe 100 people in one server. Man the possibilities.

This is looking pretty cool.  I had forgot about this game. I had tried to keep up on its updates but they really kept kinda quite for a while.   Might bode well to see screen shots located HERE

Of course it is no indication on how the game plays, I will look for a demo or trailer for this.

Demo has been out for a while now.  Don't expect a fast paced shooter, it's much more methodical and requires tactics on a larger scale.  Also, you can play from 1st person or 3rd person which comes in handy.

Good point on the lack fast pace which we are so accustomed to.  I think it may be nice to actually have time to plan, coordinate a strategy.  We are so used to running 6 blocks in 10 seconds and spawn right into the action that we loose the ability to actually coordinate ourselves as a squad.  This may be a game we could all enjoy.  I will be checking out the demo of course.  Then again, this might not be our cup of soup.  We still should maybe look into it though.

Another thing i will add to this is that my copy is on preorder LOL also though there is a  map maker that comes with it. U can make your own terrains which are large. Continent sized maps that can scale miles apon miles including lots of towns and outposts. The weapons are a lot more accurate that what most are used to playing (to a point don't expect to be 400 meters away and not have to calculate windage and bullet drop as they are both factors in the game). Lets get a few in the demo and see what we can do against the AI. They are decent enough to know if your going to like the game or not.



   Night maps are exactly that They are DARK and the only way to see anything is to either blow something up and use the glow from the fire which is awsome or use your nightvision goggles which limit your site from side to side.

not sure night. I know there are already a lot of mods out for it. One guy made a chinook and a comanchee models for it. I am sure we can ask around and maybe get U one made LOL.

Wow, well I set it up and played a bit but found it a bit hard to adjust to the controls.  Lots of delay in switching from binos to weapon and that kind of thing.  Kinda expected as in real life the binos do not suddenly appear at you eyes. 

Operation Flashpoint to the bone, just a new name.  I hope the full version operates a little more fluid with a bit easier controls.  Massive commands and the learning curve is a bit above normal.   I am not to set on the game engine, though I have felt that way before on other demos.  Blackhawk Down demo and a few other demos left me feeling the same.  Though when the full meal deal came out, it was a wold of difference in how the game played. 
So far, I am not overly impressed but I do see where this could be a ball.  My biggest issue is the controls which is somewhat massive.  I do like the communication, but you have to take your mind off of what the situation is at hand to bark an order, thus your dead.  Looks as though there is an ingame voice, which in my opinion should be dumped and not part of the game.   
I am a bit concerned that this game may be a hog system wise.  At normal settings I could not get above 25fps and would drop to 12-15 at times.  BF2/2142 I run all at high with a 65fps solid.  So something about the game engine here that seems to bug me a bit.

Installed the Demo and I get this msg when starting. "error creating direct3d9 graphical engine"  I installed Direct x9 and restated thinking that was it but nope..???

ATI card?  If so loose it, ATI has been a big pain with drivers but I understand that they will be Vista friendly
