Imus gets the boot?

Damn Instinct, you busted my bubble on several fronts.  What I mean is there is nothing left to say because you are so right on!  Eve, man you need to be an editoralist.  Good post!

I am compiling a list for our members who care about such issues. This list will help those that don't know who their representive is and I will make it a s easy as I can for you to contact your local rep.  It shouldn't stop there though, that rep has prolly been to the snob school of forget the people like the rest of the clowns that always seem to get voted into office.  We need to make sure our point is heard.

well i agree imus is an idiot, plain and simple!, anyone who sees fit to hurl insults and disparaging remarks needs to get kicked off the air.

but kick him off for bieng an A*hole not because he offended blacks or anyone else.

in this country we are supposed* to have free speech , if i can put up with farrakahn then they can put up with imus.

i draw the line at hatred , and in his remarks i saw no hatred to blacks or women, just trash talk from an old moron.

the word HO's has become a joke in and of itself , practically everyone uses it in some sort of mockery or tomfoolery. the N word never came out his mouth either.

you see he said "these nappy headed ho's"    he did not say "these nappy headed HOOKERS " or "these nappy headed "Nr*" his words are caractures not epithets

so in this regard he is getting railroaded, but this is just the reason why we need to push back and tell those making it a race issue to get stuffed!

and tell our politicians we want to see an end to this endless sensitivty and double standards.


overall i could really care less don imus is a dinosaur , and has efficiently insulted about every class/race/identity he could ,even calling mother theresa a B*
as a moral imperetive we need to have less don imus"s of the world . and since turn around is fair play...lets make a gargantuan issue over what this admitted

A couple of points I would like to point out.  The man in the video said it was "his idea" that the blacks should get rid of the blacks.  From the lack of applause to that statement leads me to believe that they did not agree to his statement.  I also believe that from the silence, that they realized they maybe should screen a little bit better before they turn the microphone over to just anybody.

Point two.  I watched the news article about Imus and viewed Vivian Stringer and listened to the comments by the girls.  Vivian stated that they did not fit the description stated by Imus and that these were college educated girls who worked hard to get where they are at. 

The camera then went to the line of the college girls who obviously had elected the girl with the microphone to be the spokesman for them all.  She said........We not ho's.  We are not nappy headed ho's Mr. Imus.

For a college educated person to speak in this manor on nationwide news is an embarrassment to our education system.  I don't care how you cut it....  The statement should have been...We are not nappy headed whores.   

Well so much for our hard working college educated girls and our educated news people.  sigh.....i weep for the future.

Well from what i understand the girls are maybe hard workers, but they are a wild bunch too. Some of them.  I'm not usre what legal definition "nappy headed " would be, but that is an opinion. As far as hoes is concerned, I bet a few of them party a lot.  So in a legal sense it may can be proven Imas was right. I still dont condone what he said, of course.  But go to court and prove you are not a nappy headed ho.

But it is an opinion.  Jackson and Sharpen and many other give their opinions every day.  There is nothng in the Constitution about freedom from being insulted.  We dont have courts any more, we have the bias opinion of reactionaries that have the bias media's ear.. and most the media holds who they like unaccountable.  They preach tolerance for thier views but have none for others.
