Now I am seeing on the news (CNN) More should have been done!  OMG, lets see, it is the police's duty to know when a crazy mass executer is about to go on a rampage - all the students should have been warned before?  Gimme a break!
I guess blame needs to be placed, but quite honestly, nobody in a right mind could have prevented this.

Taking into the account the police know nothing other than a shooting is taking place when the call came in.  No identity of the shooter, just look for someone packing a gun right?  I don't understand those that place blame where blame has no place!  I know the police were at the scene of an earlier incident and probably something should have been done then. 
Surely we learn from such atrocities but to blame anyone for not doing a better job is a little selfcentered and says nothing for the police who wish to GOD that they could have prevented even one person from this horror. 
Watch the media turn this into a finger pointing blame thrower rather than think about the victims and the injured.

The warning system was email based.  Who in the world would be sitting in class reading email?  I know my school has it's own email, and I never check it except when bills are coming.

Earlier this year their legislature was to pass a bill that would allow licenced guns on campus.  Responsible 21 year old student wold be able to have a unchambered/un-loaded gun in their possesion.

At least two school shootings have been stopped by armed civilians before police arrived:

· January 9, 2002, Appalachian School of Law in Grundy, Va. - 43 year old Peter Odighizuwa, who had flunked out of the small law school earlier in the week killed three people and wounded three others. Two law students - Tracy Bridges and Ted Besen - retreived a handgun from Bridges' vehicle and held Odighizuwa at gun point for several minutes before police arrived. (Bridges was a reserve deputy sheriff, but was not on duty at the time of the incident.)

· October 1, 1997, Pearl High School, Pearl, Ms. - 16 year old Luke Woodham carried a rifle onto the school campus, killed his ex-girlfriend and one of her friends and wounded seven other people. Assisstant Principal Joel Myrick retreived a handgun from his truck and held Woodham for police. It was later learned that the teeneager had beaten and stabbed his own mother to death before the attack at the school.

Well, I am sur those that want your guns will counter this with stiffer gun control.  Weak idea, very stupidly weak.  They (Gun activists) can't seem to get it through their head that those stupid laws they put on the books don't apply to the criminals. 
Yes Eve, a student or teacher or who ever would have had a weapon, this may have ended much sooner.  I am not talking about just anyone packing a weapon, just those that can do so legally and know what a gun is.

Well, lets see. If we can blame the fact that people use guns to kill people on the guns, I should be able to blame all my misspelled words on my pencil or my keyboard.  Our society has become so fascinated on the fact that they want to control guns that they are missing the BIG friggen picture. It takes a conscious decision to PULL THE TRIGGER!!! The guns do not flaot through the air and pick thier targets and discharge on their own. All gun control is going to do is keep firearms out of the hands on law abiding citizens who have the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms. While I am not ofr gun control, I also do not believe that John Q. Public needs to have assault weapons in their home, nor do they need to have high capacity magizines for their hand guns.  Most shootings take place within 6 feet and last only 3 -6 seconds.  Cant see the need for 18 rounds of 9mm ammo or 13 round of .45 ammo for close quarters inside a residence.
Now that being said, I feel that anyone who is legally allowed to carry a firearm should be allowed to carry it ANYWHERE at ANYTIME, within reason.  For example- Should guns be permitted inside a courtroom - NO - too many bad possibilities shoudle the verdict go the wrong way. - Public schools - should a High school teacher be permitted to be packing during the school day - awww hell no. While teachers are adults - wayy too many kids that are adult size that can go screwey and overpower them and take the weapon.  They need to come up with tougher legislation to punish those that commit crimes with firearms instead of punishing those that show responsibility.

As far as the media goes trying to put the blame on the police - always love the Monday morning armchair quarterbacks . Never been there never done that but lord knows they can do it better and have all the answers AFTER the incident is over and alot more info is available.

I do believe that anyone who will carry will be trained and licenced, checked out and in and have a scheduled update.   If the crimminals arent going to abide by the laws then that is the only solution.   If you go into a swamp and know there are mean deadly snakes that live there (you may never encounter one) then you go prepared.   The police have guns yes but they are few. I wonder what the ratio of police to badguys is?

I din't mean to turn this into a gun lobbythread thuough.  It just realy disturbs me the lack of pure horse-sense in this countryand world today.  There is no moral base.  Some have asked for and gotten their way to do what hey want and use humanisum as a base. In post-modernisum thinking What's right is right for the individual.  We do not have a collective moral base and many dont want one. Then they wonder why this shooting happens or the terrorists wil not negociate.   A collective moral base would mean a collective moral stance such as the one we need in Iraq.  It means a collective moral and social resolve.  It means responsibility.

We had one based on the Christian ethics. Even those that were not Christian saw the value in that.  It worked for 200 years and made us strong and powerful.  But today we want our own will to do the things that yesterday were wrong.  When you remove a moral base liek that it leaves a void and other things seeps in.   Europe is finding this out with the void being filled with Islam. 

It's time to stand up and at the very least vote and use our voice.  It's time for some good patriotic leaders that will be our voice.

Good point Morb.  I had a drill seargant who used to quote and old adage on the firing range.


"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."  We need tougher laws....maybe...but I think the problem is a societal one.  If we did not report the names of these killers but focused on the victims only, maybe some of these people would not see there immortality in the pain of others.  Just a thought.  I greive for those families.

Yes, I have been seeing that.  Truth be told, I don't blame anyone other than the killer.  I am sure the cops missed something and should have gone about this in a different way.  But to alienate anyone other than the killer is just wrong.  It seems the human race is suppose to be perfect or at least the cops are.

Humanists, secularists, post-modernists, what ever you want to call them are largely responsible for this.

Think about this: The main goal of liberals (mostly secularists) in their agenda is to make it so you do not suffer the consequences of your actions.

Abortion rights, so you can be sexually active, at a younger and younger age.  Not telling the parents when you have an abortion on a minor or give condoms to 12 year old boys and pills to 13 year old girls (they gonna do it anyway).  Make it very hard to adopt so there will be more abortions.   And goodness knows, don't give any state funds to Christian adoption agencies that wont let gays abopt..even though they are far more succss ful than the state run ones.

Issues all designed to free you of the consequences of your actions.

We have people that reinterpret the Constitution and Bible to make it say, or not say what they want.  We have people that rewrite history and news casts..leave certain things out so the truth will be bent.

Take rights and parental consent form parents. (it takes a village) because parents are the ones that discipline and control their children.  No home-school because they cant be indoctrinated in teh public schools if we home-schools kids.

Let's have Gay-Rights and Hate Crime legislation so gays wont have to hear the truth about their lifestyle.  No tolerance for opposing views.  Gays can come in to class and talk about their wonderful lifestyle but not Christians or even an opposing view to the health hazards gays face.

The teaching of evolution for fact because if that is so then there is no God. God tends to call evil, evil; and good, good.  He deals in absolute truths.

The number one thing that is opposed to liberalism is Christianity, so lets promote Islam in schools and ban Prayer and Bibles.  In many schools you can have a Koran and pray to Allah on but not to Jehovah, not in Christ's name.

Fairness doctrine to shut the Conservative radio/TV shows down and stifle the free speech. (There are few liberal talk shows because they all flop) This doesn't apply to news reporting just editorials, jsut talk shows..so the liberal media is safe (even though the newscasts seem to be one big editorial).

The unfair way the News treats those that are Conservative that mess up as opposed to the liberal mess up.  Not enough bandwidth to list them here. Lets hammer the Conservitive in the ground and give th liberal a get-out-of-jail-free card.   Lets lie iin our stories and not check sources, we can always print a retraction on page 24 under the obits.

This not-responsible thing pervades our culture now-a-days.  Parents bail kids out of jail.  Give them all they want and not let them earn it.  They don't discipline them. 

Oh, no discipline in schools.. that will hurt the esteem of little Timmy.  Tim cant read or write but he feels good about it, by dingies.  (I was a product of a school system like that.. cant you tell LOL )

Liberals believe there i no absolute truth.  What is right for you is right for you and everyone else be dammed.  This is how we can let 2% of the population determine there is no prayer in schools.  Oooooo..they might be offended.  This is how 5% of the population can demand and get SPECIAL rights for (insert description or what gays do here).

Oh, gays cant help it.  We condemn many hundreds of thousands to a cruel depressed life by selling this when many thousands have come out of this lifestyle.  They don't want you to know this, they especially sell it to the gays.  When PFOX or some other x-gay organization shows up at a gay rally they are banned.  So much for tolerance.  If we accept gays the surely adultery is not bad..or even pedophilia. 

There is no consequence for not getting out and voting.  They all are the same anyway.  Right?  No consequences to gamble away your money, beat your wife or kids or husband, cheat on your taxes, steal others money in a land deal in Arkansas, lie to the Congress as Clinton did.  Have sex in the oval office.   Not pay your child support.  Lie to yourspouse, kids and parents and it's funny.

Congress can vote for a fence and say "I voted FOR a fence" and not fund it.  Propose to spend 200 million and only spend 100 million and say we cut the budget by 100 million. Realitive truth.

Lets play the blame game, Video Games?  It not the games it's the poor moral foundation of  the kids playing them.   Police?  They do all they can and more. Teachers? Overwhelmed.  "Its everybody and anybody's fault but mine" is the inscription on most of our society's brain. 

If there is no absolute truth then there is no consequences; no consequences then no responsibility, especially to others.  No responsibility then I can do what I want.  If I can do what I want and not be responsible then I can kill 32 innocents. After all its not my fault.  I can blame it on others. Thats not true, sure.. but what is true??

As Pontius Pilate said to Jesus in His innocent trial "Truth, what is truth?".  He was stating that Pilate had the ability to MAKE truth.  The Sanhedrin MADE their own truth.  Liberals MAKE their truth.

No consequences for the people that treased and tortured the poor man either.   People are merciless  these days.  Those of us who have been on the recieving end of insults and putdowns know the horrible feelings it can cause. I cry when I see the tapes he made.  I can't help it.

For eveything we do or dont do there are consequences.  The goal of mankind aught to be love.  If there is less wrong-doing there is less need for consequences.
