Mic boost

Some sound accelerators need to have the Windows mic boost checked.  This can be found by double clicking the volume control.  This is the icon located near your desktop clock.  Once the window opens, go to Options then properties.  Click on Recording and check the Microphone box and then click OK (if already checked, that is fine).
A separate window will now appear, click on Advanced in the lower part of that pop up.  Now make sure your mic boost is checked and close.
This will bring your voice forward of any running applications that have sound as well.  In some cases where the mic boost is not checked your voice will be faint and hard for others to hear.

If  you are running your sound cards hardware , look for a similar option in its software you have installed.
