Hey guys I need to get this off my chest. I keep on feeling I don't deserve all that I have. I mean I never did what my brother has done. He served our country for 20 years. He saw the things that most never had to see and I pray most never have to see. His retirement from the Army came up last week ,and he could only cry. Not of happiness. He regretted leaving his sons and wife alone. He feels its his fault this happend. He told me only if i was home. He showed me the bronze star they issued him on that same day for his service in Iraq. And he asked me do I really deserve this. I told him he did. But he shook his head. I felt bad for him this has been a tough year for him his wife left him cause she said she could not handle being a mom. She was doing drugs with my oldest Nephew and his friends. The youngest one told me this 6 months back. His mom caught them doing it and instead of stopping it she joined in. I tell you its was a huge shock when an eight year old tells you this. That is why my brother came home on emergency leave for a week and then sent back and then they sent him home for good after he was found unfit to fight. I feel so guilty at times because my brother did more then I ever could do for anyone. And he got dealt a bad deck. So please pray for him. And his family. They really could use it. Wow I feel better now since I finally got this off my mind. S! and thanks for reading.

I have said prayers for him since you told me about the situation.  Prayers will be continued.  It may sound foolish to some, but when i say our squad needs prayer in church....I mention your squad names.  Jesus knows who we are and what we need, and just when and how to get the prayer answered to its best.

Will do Gunny, It takes time, but with a brother like you I am sure he will get past this...just keep giving him the support you can and try to get him to see someone at the VA or if he retired get him to go to Ft Hood to hospital and talk to those guys lots of us GI's have had the same and similar experiences and those people know something about it and can help if he doesn't want to talk to the doc's have him talk to the Chaplin's office.

Well it sounds like youre in a postition to uphold your brother now, as Puddy said.  Youre ina key positin for him and he needs you.

As far as deserving things hon, in reality none of us do.  The sacrifices made by those men and women in combat and in situations like this can never be paid. But I bet your brother wouldnt ask for a thing.  Just a little respect and help.

You work and try to provide for your family and there is no shame or loss in that. If you have much then you can give of yourself.  You are in a position to repay a bit of that now.

Do all you can for your brother, however the Lord leads you to do that hon.  Those feellings of unbalance will soon pass.

Thanks everyone. He is getting counseling and he went to the V.A.  I know your prayers made this come true. Because he did not want to go to the V.A. for help. And then just 4 days ago he comes in and says. I went to the V.A.  I just hope they can help him.

I feel bad for your brother. that is a sad story. My prayers are with him. He needs a good friend. I'm sure he couldn't find a better one than you.
