How many of you remember or know about your great, great, great grandparents?  Very few of you and if you do you probably know where they were from and/or died at the most. . . . maybe who they married. Were they a good person? Who knows.

i do “good” things. I counsel and pray with/for folks on line and in real life.  I take people in and feed them..animals too.  If there is a trouble youth in our church our house has served for a sanctuary, no questions asked.  I give what I can to the church and we give a “lot” of money to the Boy Scouts of America. I have friends that are Islamic, homosexual, addicted to what ever and drunks that i try to help. (When I say “I” I mean John and I.).I have volunteered at a crisis pregnancy organization. Which is a big stretch for me and my communications skills.  Mostly I pack boxes and drive girls to places. I am not telling you this for any reason other than to make a point.

You would consider this the stuff of a good person.  I consider myself and am considered by some to be a good person, I guess. I really get upset when I am falsely accused of not being one.  I think not because I have a rep to keep up..but because I am really not a good person.

No really. Nothing false about what I am telling you.  I have broken every commandment.  I have done things that cause hurt and disrupted lives and caused great problems.  I have been so low and so lost that I dint want to live. Certainly I am not a good Christian, not even a fair one.  I fall short and die on the vine many times. Also it is not your good works that get you into heaven, only His sacrifice and your repentance and faith can do that.

Think about this: 100 years from now who is gonna remember what I did or what you did?  Just as your great-to-the-third-power grand parent’s details of their lives are not remembered..your deeds, evil or good, wont be remembered.  Unless you're a person like Hitler or Billy Graham.  But even they will be long forgotten and fade in enough time.

All people have the same potential for good (and evil).  The televangelist that did great things is brought down by one weak moment, thousands of his followers are betrayed.  Yet the lowest, homeless man or gang member will jump on the tracks to save a stranger from a coming train. We choose a hundred times a day.

No one will remember in time.  Long after this forum is history and you and I die and our great grandkids die, theses things will be lost, to everyone except one: Jesus Christ.

He remembers. He will one day forget the wrongs, but the things you do that are good He will remember.  It just makes sense to me to do it for Him, then.  Who else is going to remember it anyway?

Hopefully you don't feed them the nieghbors pets when taking them in.

I don't think there is a day I wonder the same thing about who I am and why am even here to begin with.  Eve i think your post is a larger than large question that everyone has.  "What difference am I"?  The complete answer is your last line --> He remembers. Whats more important is the He new before you ever were.  So there is a reason and most of us may never know that until we are risen again.

Nice post Eve, thanks
