One of the reasons i love my Job.
Got a call today from a Fire logistics/base camp.
We have a 14K acre fire in the local hills. when i got there after going threw 2 CHP check points i pulled in to a small city.
there must have been at lease 400 Engines.
also a mobile copy center 2, 100 copy a minute machines.

Heres some crappy cell pixs.

first 2 are the Chow line .

Other 2 are a couple engines and the smoke.

Snow Valley. Every Square inch of there parking lot had a Engine or tent or trailer. and at the base of the ski slope there were tents.
Funny thing the CDF guys get hotel rooms and the department of forestry guys no matter what there rank sleep in tents.

At least they had there tents, TK can back me on this if he went out on the large fires We had to sleep on the hose bed or in the trucks. Not saying I did not like it as for I loved fighting the fires.

I tell ya what i have nothing but respect for people that go out and do that. Risk there life’s for people that they don’t even know. I saw line guys and hot shoots as well covered in soot. It was quite a day.
I do have to go back there Thursday or Friday. And talk about the presser i had. That trailer housing the machines was a hot bed of activity. The gal running it said the fighters can't go and fight with out maps from briefings and stuff there was barely any room for me to work with all that was going on in there.. I'm just happy i could get there stuff going good enough till i get back up there.

You contributed to the support of that operation Mark, pat yourself on the back seriously.  A lot goes on that people do not know about.  How are those guys/gals getting fed? Who is there for them? there are others that contribute behind the scenes that need thanked as well, so Thanks!

oh man there eating very well. Dee the owner kept bugging and wanting me to go with her to have dinner. I really didn't Feel worthy to in the same company as the fighters in the dinning aria.
But let me tell ya there eating like kings! As they should be. She was telling catering is kinda a crap shoot allot of times they get the same catering as the actors do on movie sets and other times it's crap.
But for the most part she said they eat really well.
