Yeah, you can actually turn that off in the BIOS TK, at least on these Asus boards.  Say if you canted to manually control the fan or have it run full on all the time.  I believe you can actually set up desired rpm settings for certain temperature ranges also.

Welcome to the Dark Side TK!!!!   

I'm not a big fan of fan controllers, but then again I don't find my rigs fans overly loud.  My experience with the Asus monitoring software for the Asus board I have now, is that it SUCKS!!!

I uninstalled it as it didn't give me anywhere near the info I need.  I'm sure it works much better on Smooth's board which is newer and has more sensors onboard to support it.
