OK, on the cord itself now, does it have a 4 pin section that's removable from the main cord?  I'm trying to determine if it's a 24 pin or a 20+4 pin (where the last 4 pins slide off).  If it's a single piece, I don't think you can use it.  If it's a 20+4 you might be able to.

I have to put it in upside down  ..it has a fan on three sides and no vent at the top of the case.

I know, I sound like and idiot.  I just thought I would try this.  I'll probably do this and then go back to my greenhouse.  I just like to try new things.  I have no idea what you guys are talking about in the other threads (like opening other pixels) but I enjoy new things like this.

I did get themother board and the power supply in..although I had to buy a shorter screwdriver.  I got most of the little pins in the right place I think.  I still havent figured out the front headphones plug, which I realy need because I either  have my speaker so loud no one can stay in the house or use headphones loud.  But I will figure it out.  I may not eve get a speaker system since John is over seas and he has his own computer anyway.

Also the 24 thingy power supply pin snaped off but what do I do with the 4 left?   It looks like it fits a plug on the board nex to the 20 pin, but there is a seperate plug on the power supply that fits that too. I figured its safer to use the one that dint snap off.  I figure the wires may not be in the right order onthe one that is snapped off?

I also seated the graphics card in place.  It has two power inputs.  It was difficlut to get it to fit in the slots on the back of the case.  But I got it in there. Also the memory is in place.

Now looking for a monitor and CD and DVD RWs .. a good mouse and keyboard.

At work I have a switch that switches between computers but uses the same monitors and keyboards.  I may keep the system I have with all my graphics work on it and use this one just for gaming. Have nothing else but ICQ on the new one? Is there wisdom in this or not?

Eve, I'm not real sure about the layout of your particular board, but the front panel audio socket on your motherboard is probably somewhere near the PCI slots.  The one on my board has "FP_AUDIO" printed on the board next to it.  It doesn't look like a socket per say, but rather some pins sticking out of the board.

Be very careful where you are plugging things in with the power supply, you'll burn it out if the main power cord is not in the correct spot.

I realize my build is primary compared to some of you techno wizards. But I have found the manual to my board on the net..  and  was able to find al the right pins, in additon to the hook-up for the headphones.  (When I play JO or what ever I have to keep it loud and it scares tHE poo out of my family when they come on lOL )

As I write this I am downloading the chips, Lan and sound drivers for my MoBoard and the drives for the 6800 ultra.  I have also procured soem fast ram (two gigs) and installed that.  I booted with no operating systemn at the moment but will install XP soon.
