Any ideas on the sound?  I'm not familiar enough with Vista yet to really troubleshoot it.

I played the Crysis demo yesterday and it looked rediculously good and played well.  Aside from the sound thing, which I seem to have a problem with under any OS, I like Vista so far.  The one thing that really impressed me was the ease of setup.  I put the disk in, it formats over my old XP install from an app not a prompt like XP, and is running and updated within 20 minutes.  I also like that you can just plug stuff in, like usb stuff and external drives, and it just recognizes it and things start working, no digging around for drivers.

Yes Wild, its a 110mm nickel plated copper Zalman 9700NT cpu cooler.  I have a pretty good airflow setup going.  120mm intake, 110mm cpu cooler exhausting right into a 120mm exhaust, two 90mm exhausts 1 up top and 1 in the back, 60mm northbridge fan, dual slot video card cooler, 140mm fan on the psu also.  Everything is pushed right out of the case.

Replaced the keyboard with a Saitek Eclipse II which I found on Newegg during a 24hr sale for almost 40% off and the mouse with a Razer Deathadder coupled with an Xtrac 17''x11'' mousepad.

The mousepad?  Pretty nice, good balance of speed and control.  It's only about a millimeter thick too so your wrist doesn't snag on it.  The thing is huge, 1/3 of it is tucked under the keyboard.  Never have to reset the mouse anymore because I've reached the end of the pad.

I haven't used a Razer since the original ball Boomslang.  I've got to say I'm impressed.  First time out managed 38/4 close range sniping with a few crazy no-scope bolt action shots in CoD4.  Very smooth mouse, rubberized top and rubber scroll wheel feel great, quick response from the buttons, overall good mouse.  Got this one btw:

I have gotten to like the razors.  I have one for my laptop even (copperhead).  I have a deathadder on my gaming computer.  They can be picky about what surface you use them on but well worth getting.

Looks great Smooth. I don't know half of what you guys talk about most of the time, but that is one fine looking set up!

i currently use the G5.

as for the size of the Xtrac Pad(17x11).  i built my own computer desk about 5 yrs ago. the keyboard and mouse tables are separated from each other,& slide into the desk for storage. the mouse table is 11.5W x 16L. should be a nice fit, for that pad. would hang over the back side about an inch.

I was considering the G5 too, but wanted to try a Razer this time, last 2 were Logitech.  Believe it or not Wild, 17x11 is the smallest of 3 sizes they offer.

No idea, some of them fit across a whole keyboard tray.
