My Turn. I need your prayers.

I have been in and out of the hospital this past week with my mother. She is an 82 year old sweetie. She has alzheimers, and today they told me that her internal bleeding is from cancer which is all through her and in her liver. So with a tear and deep sigh I now ask for your prayers of comfort. I will cherish the remaining days that the Lord gives me with her and will remember everyday of my life with her I am sure.
TK, I know that you went through this and will never ever forget what you wrote in your last moments with your mother. If you have some advice sir, I would read them with great intent and humility. Lord bless all of you for your thoughts and your prayers. Thank you all.

I have been through loss. As many have, of course. In times like these, we of the Faith look to our God. The God of Peace, healing and comfort..as only He can give. It doesnt make it any less hard or even easy. Mainly, we of the Faith know what love is and its hard to let that someone go that we love wth the deep Love of Christ. Know that God hurts with you. He feels your sorrow. Know that we hurt with you too.
God is also the God of memories. The gift of times gone by, if you let them, become clear in instances like this, and precious. Your memories are the medicine for the pain. Sit with her and remember the good times, the special food, sayings and times. The time she fussed at you. For as you know, in a era to come, you two can sit in Another Place and go over these memories and the special times that no one on earth can take and no one in Heaven wants to take. Talk to her, for love is not lost in eternity. So tell her now all the things you want to. Soon she will understand them better than you do. These times are the jewels we store in Heaven.
it is not the end, brother in Christ, as you know. I pray for your Peace and I pray you treasure this time and this place and the Place to come. Hope.
Promised Land
Blessed beyond belief,
For nothing I deserve,
For the earth beneath my feet,
And the Unfailing Word.
The chance to be a saint
The strength to overcome,
Too accept the things I can’t,
The chaos I’m rescued from.
Blessed, I can’t understand
How Love would shower me,
To allow me to hold His hand,
And the Promise land to see.

God Bless you BB and your family during this time.
I want to first thank you so very much just for remembering me in my time of grief. That in it self means more to me than you will ever know. Thank you BB.
It happens all around us every day. The words death, dying deceased.... The neighbor across the street, a mother a child passes, the headlines..... I can go on. You would think this is something that we would easily bare as it is a part of life and strikes everyone every day.
It is not so easy to bare and it wasn't for me.
BB, I believe this is something instilled in us to realize how precious life really is.
There may be nothing I can say or do to make this any less bearable but I can tell you you are not alone in the way you feel. I still weep at the thought of my dying mother and tried so hard to understand at the time of her passing, why this way? Why cancer, she did not deserve this. Why not me? So many thoughts and yes even blame.
What I do know is this. Every thing that you share with us here BB, is not just something our Lord told you to give to just us, He was speaking to all of us including you.
I know this simply because I read your posts most every day. I bet you didn't know that. Some of your posts I have read many times to help understand where we are all heading.
If I was able to give you peace during this time it would be holding the hand of the mother you so love, a smile to her to let her know it will be OK. What you will receive is the same.
It is not much I know BB but my peace came from that smile and the hand the held mine. You see, it was my mother giving me the strength, not me giving her strength.
Your friend in our Lord
Doug

Wow, What do you say in a time like this? Esp. after reading Tk and Nigh beautiful posts. All wonderful and true. Here I am sitting on my birthday another year older and hurting at the loss for TK, which I did not know and am truly sorry, and BB. I feel the pain of this horrible disease, as it is one my family struggles with and I know all to well. My mother and I discuss it and joke, saying the Doctors don't want to find a cure, cause if they do, they would be out of a job. It needs to be put to an end and I pray for all of you who have it, live with it, or know it in some way, to have the strength and keep the faith. It is heart-wrenching and not easy to watch anyone going through it. I don't care how old or tough you try to be, this disease will consume your heart and you will cry for those before you. While I am honored to share this day with my family, I only think of those who need help and prayers and if I had all the money in the world I would do all I could to help and ease the suffering, for those who know me, know that is who I am. Drives my husband crazy, never do anything for me. BB, you are a man of strength, and your mother loves you, and as TK said, she gives you strength more than you know. In return you have been there for her and the memories she has no one can ever take from her or vice versa. No money in the world buys love or feelings, or matters of the heart, mind or soul. We are blessed in this world in what we leave behind and what I like to call our "Footprint". My favorite poem of all time Footprints, "
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking
along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes
from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of Footprints
in the sand; one belonging to him and the other the Lord.
When the last scene from his life flashed before him, he looked
back at the Footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times
along the path of his life there was only one set of Footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it,"
Lord...you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with
me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome
times in my life, there is only one set of Footprints. I don't understand
why you'd leave me when I needed you the most."
The Lord replied," My precious child, I love you and I could NEVER leave
you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set
of Footprints, it was then that I carried you.
You are now being carried BB as is your Mother. May the Lord continue to Bless you and all those in need. You are in our prayers.

Yes, thank you for all of those who have posted and all who are going to post. We are making it thru this and we are doing fine. Your words and thoughts, are cherished and that is what this squad and our allies do....help. You all are just fantastic people, always sharing, always helping. I couldn't be more happy to be associated with anyone else.
Keep us in your prayers, just say a...."help BB and his family" during the day, and the Lord Jesus will do it. Thanks so much everyone.

BB, I hope you are doing well. I think about you and your mother often since I read your first post about this.
all - beautiful posts - I know BB is busy right now and I certainly can't speak for him but I do know how much all of your words mean.
