Nice card Instinct, but are ya sure it's worth spending $350 on an AGP solution?  The reviews I've seen of it have it preforming only slightly better than a 6800GT.  You can get 6800GS and unlock it to GT standards.  A 6800GS goes for under $200.  That way you put the $150 aside for the Mobo update. 


I really think upgrading an AGP card at this time is not real cost effective.  Lets face it AGP is being replaced by PCI-e.  But hey, that's just one mans opinion.

of corse pci-e kat..over the course of the next year i will be putting together a monster rig....just i will do it slowly saving the chunk for the cpu choice, untill then i have fleshed out this agp rig,with 4 gigs of xms pro ..as well as other luxury items, i already have a bfgtech 68oogt oc in this , i just put in the x fi card and i would like to jump up to the new core 7xxx just to stay current, i will most likely sell this gt card to offset any 7xx upgrade.

i will put up a list of upgrades soon as i can then u might be able to see the slow migration i am taking , im going around about upgrading the rest of the infrastructure first ..leaving the jump to pci-e+ cpu+Windowsvista for last.

to be perticular i was wanting to wait on the nxt gen Asus mobos --and the Asus Fibre connections solution,and see where the cpu fallout will end up and exmine the seagate cheetah 15k drives.
about a 12 month process,till then ive got plenty of spank left in this baby,just want to give it some more fuel.

RGR That, Instinct.  Hehe, looks like you got a handle on it.  I imagine if I didn't have the boat I'd be doing the same thing. 

With my budget I have to be a lot more conservative with my upgrade dollars.
