Has anyone tried this FreeLook?  I have the Track IR which is very nice - I can imagine this would be a great tool in comparison

The tribulations of Winter... 90% of Americans say 'OH SHI*T!' before going into the ditch on a slippery road. The other 10% are from TEXAS and they say, 'HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS SH*T!!!'

trackir never really captivated me... i can't justify paying more than a price of a wii remote to just move your head up and down... you would almost to be gaming on multiple monitors to make it even remotely worth it... just my 2cents

Old post I know -
I guess you would have to experience the Track IR to get the full idea of it's use.
Particularly from a pilots perspective.
Though I have found myself in non- TIR games turning my head slightly to get that look over the shoulder or the controlled lean to ‘peek’ around that corner a frustration when it is not included in the game.

The purpose of the TIR in MHO is to add a little more interactivity for those ‘simulations’ that I feel actually help to envelope you in the game.
The controlled lean for instance is rather nice.  Instead of hitting the keyboard lean button which puts you in a total lean is different in the TIR.  TIR allows you to lean slowly to any point the lean allows which is a nice feature against those dead accurate AI or the player thinking he is the top sniper.
This is even a better tool when sniping.  You have a much better field of view and situational awareness it would have you wondering why you didn’t have this before.
Rather than your entire avatar moving to look right/left and to the rear, a simple slight movement of the head in either direction while leaving your weapon motionless as well as your entire body.  Seeing an entire avatar moving in the distance is easier sighted than a slight turn of the head.
Pilots love this TIR a lot.  It affords you the ability to view your cockpit with surprising results.  Such as a slight move forward to view your interments at a closer look, free look at the entire cockpit and instruments are a boon.
As for more than one monitor, hell yes it would be nice but it works the same on single or multi monitors.
