on windows 7 you have multiple devices, where you can control the volume on all... I turn off the "allow applications to take control of this device" so that I can have everything running through the speakers and the settings I want... I think that there is a feature that mutes or lowers all background noise if another device tries to take control... might be your issue, i dunno...

tried that, didnt help me though. gonna have too try harder at figuring out the sound driver i think, also my system says im usen speaker's.... headphones not plugged in....... possibly the problem i dunno.
whats a coprocessor driver? that also need's to be addressed. driver cant be found, according to win7. i think its apart of my triple core cpu, but cant find it on mb disk. course it would help if i knew what i was looken for lol.
system run's great,REAL fast. compared to XP, format was 100x's faster. just need to figure out these tweak's i need, like how to install new vid driver.been reading allot on it, say's to just install for AMD & ATI, the system does the rest. but i'm not too sure on it. guess i'll try, and reformat if need be.

if you have an HDMI port on your video card, it will register as a sound device...

Well TK, Windows 7 is pretty good at installing all the drivers needed for your system. But there are a few things that it
just cannot get. All that was needed to fix this problem and most of the other problems that come with windows 7 was
the chipset drivers. Sure fixed most of my problems.
I couldn't figure out for the life of me what a coprocessor was. Just messed around with it until i figured it out.

it was the onboard video chip that it was calling a co processor. Installing the chip set drivers fixed the problem.
