looks like a good card, run's dx11 aswell.  the 260 which i was looking to get is either out of stock or just out of my price range. which is between 150 and 200 buc's. if u know of any better card's at that price range please let me know, TY.

A 460 is a generation newer, higher powered card than a 260 which is out of production.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GeForce_400_Series#GTX_400_Series

One thing to note.  The specific card you've linked there has since been updated by EVGA with a better hsf that exhausts externally.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447&cm_re=radeon_hd_5770-_-14-150-447-_-Product

Other 5770s:

5830 (around your $200 range)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=radeon+hd+5830&x=0&y=0

I know you are an ATI hater, but I just gotta throw them out there... I know someone else (Kitty maybe) upgraded to an ATI around the same time I did, but man I love mine!

I'd wait for the improved hsf, it seems like manufacturers never learn their lessons with these things and put a revised hsf on later.  Also I'd wait until Newegg get the 1gb version back in stock and see exactly how they're pricing it, the difference could be minimal.

I'm not an expert by anymeans, but I do know that I am well pleased with the Radeon HD5850 (1 gig) that I am using now. I have never been a fan of ATI and I havent used this one for very long, but it has given me no problems thus far. my $.02

At that res the 768mb version should be ok, but if you plan to go much higher anytime during the period you own that card I'd get the 1gb.

Sounds good.  I'd still try and find the external exhaust version though, EVGA is listing them at the same price.  You really don't want that lousy reference cooler dumping hot air into your case, especially if you're overclocking.
