My first Christmas without you

This is my first Christmas without you by my side.
Although I try with all my might, my tears I cannot hide.
Your warming smile, your loving hug won’t be there as I walk in through the door.                                                                                             
The absence of your gentle voice and silly laugh will leave me hurting more.
But in my heart I feel you, and in my mind I see,  that you are not that far away but walking side by side with me.
And when I need to hold you, I close my eyes and see,
You running up with your arms stretched out to snuggle up to me.
I feel your arms and smell your hair as if you were still with me.
I know you are up in heaven sitting with our God above.
Just remember daddy misses you
