And here's my little story why.  Here come the walls of text.  Two years ago I had a 19'' BenQ lcd that flat out died one day.  I called their service line and they basically said the monitor is dead, like I didn't know that.  It was out of warranty, which I knew.  No options to send it for repair offered.  Two minute phone call and not even an apology that their product failed.  So I said no more BenQ.

After that I started researching brands and found that LG was getting alot of positives.  So I bought a 22'' L227WTG-PF.  It's been that best monitor I've ever owned or seen.  Extremely clear picture, colors really pop with the glossy screen, no ghosting at all in games.  Recently, on cold boots after it has been off a while, it takes on average 10 minutes for an image to appear with the power light flashing.  It gets progressively worse day after day.  It's 2 years into a 3 year warranty.  So I call LG customer service.  Which is in India by the way.

First call.  They tell me I have to send it in for repair which will take 7 to 10 days.  I tell them that I can't be without the monitor for that long.  Her response:  what are you gonna do leave the monitor like that?  I end the call right there.

Second call.  I read online in some reviews that people had replacements cross shipped to them.  So I called again, expalined the first call, and asked if there were any other options.  This guy was actually very good at his job, courteous, apologized for the product failing, etc.  He offered to cross ship a replacement without me even mentioning it.  In order to do this you have to give them a credit card number, then they put a hold on the funds until they recieve the defective unit.  I tell him I don't have a cc but I have a debit card.  He said that was fine but I would need to make sure the funds were in the account.  I asked him about the repair option they told me about in the first call.  He told me it would be 7-10 days after they recieve it, meaning the whole process would be 2-4 weeks.  I said there's no way I'm doing that and I'll go with the cross shipping option.  The required funds to cross ship came out to $374.  I paid $220 two years ago for this monitor brand new.  What's the other $154 for?  Surely computer parts don't gain value over time.  So anyways I just said ok but give me a day to move the funds into the account and I'll call back, he said no problem.  This was on Wednesday after banking hours.  Thursday I moved the money into the account.

Third call.  Today, Friday, I call them back to complete the process.  I get a different guy.  After verifying all my info he starts putting me in to the repair option process.  I stop him and tell him about the previous call and that I wanted the cross shipping option.  He says they don't do that and doesn't know who told me that or why.

So now, I don't know what the hell to do.  I put in for the repair option after I had no other choice.  Maybe I'll go buy a giant LG plasma and use that in the meantime then return it when I get my repaired monitor back in a month.

Sorry that has happened.  At least its not Sony, they just want you to replace it.  We had two brand new monitors fail (dell and MAG) ay work and are going in circles getting them replaced. I feel your pain.  The MAG was from a local shop.  I have a MAG on my gaming PC and am holding my breath.  It a good monitor..just not great.   Good luck.

I have been telling my customers for years not to buy LG..lucky goldstar.  Appliance parts returns are horrible, no one knows what they are doing, parts books are a freaking joke.  My advice to anyone...stay away from LG, the product is only as good as the service.
