CoD won't get any more of my money. While I haven't played it since the first MW, I hated the fact that they totally dissed the PC community at least for the one game, and I haven't cared to go back. Seemed like there were more 2 year olds bitching in that game than in the BF series, which was probably my biggest annoyance with the game. BF "seems" to have a more mature community, but that has been changing as well as time goes on...
It will be a while before I get BF3 as well... been kinda just taking a break, and honestly haven't even touched my gaming computer for over a week. I've been taking out my aggression on 2x4's rather than virtual bad guys, trying something different and finding out that I kinda enjoy attempting to build things (but I suck at that too).
EA kinda left a bad taste in my mouth for the crap they pulled with the sniper class, and the whole Origin thing. I'm happy to have prone back, but a big giant beacon is ridiculous... they give you heat sensing scopes and UAV's, so why can't those be used to flush out the snipers? Oh, right, because all the CoD 2 year olds are coming over to BF and bitching about all those weapons. I just don't realize why people don't understand that everyone is different, and some people just excel and have more fun with specific classes. I've been on plenty of teams with useless medics, worthless support, and spam nading assault. People want the sniper class to be worthless and be on the front lines, but yes, it does suck when you go into a server where EVERYONE is a sniper.... EA could learn a lesson from ArmA and have class slots for people to choose from to control that a bit.
Well that's my feeling on it anyways. I may pick it up IF it is on Steam and IF it is for a reasonable price, but I can't justify 60 at this point really for any game. I went with Steam because I was sick of all the CD's and keys and keeping track after each hdd wipe, and now EA is trying to go back to the way of the buffalo. That's great that they created a platform, but don't hold your games hostage because you don't like the competition. Steam could play a little nicer and be a little more catering as well, but Steam has their own security to worry about as well.
Maybe if we stay 1 game behind the "new" releases, we will see less cheating and deal with more mature players. I played Battlefield 2 up until Bad Company 2, and I can't really remember any cheats or much of anything "unusual" in the last year up until BC2. Maybe now with the release of BF3, all the cheats will move on, and we can finally enjoy some fair BC2 matches...

I'm not bitching about anyone here, but in-game chat, forums, videos, etc all bitch about one thing or another, and it gets very annoying.
