After a week of progressively worse blue screening, crashing, and file corruption I decided to reformat today. That was 5 hours ago. The problems continued through several clean installs. I even had a freeze in the bios. After alot of troubleshooting, I came to memtest86+. The memory failed it immediately with over a hundred thousand errors. So I guess there's my problem, faulty ram. I wonder why it ran fine for two months. Already contacted Gskill. Be out for a while, depends how fast their rma process is. Anybody have prior dealings with them? Man I wanted to play Karkand tonight.

I had a similar problem..but it was with another company. Z-something or other. Once they recieved the old strip they overnighted the new strip back to me. The memory was a year old. We will miss your presence but I know you will make up for it.

Mailed it out today. Should be back running within a week. Got to add a day to recover from the format I did that I didn't really need to do lol. Next time I do more troubleshooting before getting pissed and formatting. Looking forward to that 4hr dl of bf3 again. At least I managed to back up some stuff before it went. I've been reading that Gskill is quick on their rma's. Their process has been smooth so far Kitty. All I had to do is mention the set failed memtest and they just pointed me to the rma dept.

Nothing. I got delivery confirmation that it was delivered on the 19th by usps. Posted in their forums, tomorrow I think I'm calling. I hope they're not out of the office for the holidays with my ram sitting there.

Looks like they shipped it the 21st so maybe it will come tomorrow or Sat. Also just got my isp to double my down speed for almost $6/mo cheaper.

Angry phone call. They switched their speed packages around recently and neglected to put their existing customers on the new tiers and just let us go on paying more for less. So I went from 8/1 to 15/1 and negotiated the bill down.
Gskill sent me the replacement sticks today, brand new, retail packaging and all. Installing all my programs now while BF3 downloads. Should be on tonight.

Just a comment about what I learned about testing ram...
Do it with memtest86+
Do it one stick at a time in the #1 slot
Otherwise, some bad sticks on a dual or triple channel can be "masked" by the good ram, but the programs will hit the bad ram sticks and crash or do other dastardly things...
I'm now running 24Gig of the gSkill 1600...hope it's some good stuff...
